• "We have to stop McNeary from penetrating. He was killing us at the basket. We switched and put Spencer (Knecht) on him and he did a really good job in the third quarter. We had to get one stop at a time and get back in the game."
• Roncalli opened up a 15-point lead, 41-26, with 5:06 left in the third quarter. The Tigers had the lead down to seven, 48-41, with one-tenth of a second left. Roncalli had the ball out of bounds under their own basket and the inbound pass was tipped up and in as the Cavaliers took a 50-41 lead into the fourth quarter.
• The Cavaliers rallied to take a 13-point lead, 61-48, with 3:33 left. Groton tried to rally at the end, getting as close as seven points, but the Tigers were denied anything closer as the Cavaliers made four of four free throws in the final 51 seconds.
• Kasey Kurtz led the Tigers with 16 points. Reilly Ell got into foul trouble in the first half and scored all 14 of his points in the second half. Mason Madsen had 10 while Wyatt Lone had eight, Kyler Ell five, Parker Rossow four and Lucas Sternhagen two.
