Cavaliers had Groton first season loss

• It was not Groton's night in boys basketball as the Tigers suffered their first loss of the season to the hands of cross-county rival Aberdeen Roncalli, 78-59.
• Groton controlled the tip and after a couple of lead changes, Groton took the lead, 12-7. The Tigers held a 16-12 lead at the end of the first quarter.
• Then it was the dreaded second quarter. "The second quarter just killed us," said Coach Greg Kjellsen. "Riley (Ell) in foul trouble hurt and we just didn't take care of the ball.  When we did have it, we weren't strong inside."
• Turnovers plagued the Tigers and an explosive Roncalli team quickly surged ahead, 29-20. Groton was outscored, 23-5, in the second quarter as the Cavaliers took a 35-21 lead at half time.
• "It's the little things and keeping our composure that we need to work on," Kjellsen said. "We didn't value the ball very well in the second quarter--we just threw it
