Man arrested for dragging Box Elder officer

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- Pennington County deputies have arrested a man accused of dragging a Box Elder police officer across a yard.
• The sheriff's office says its officers arrested 24-year-old John Root Jr. Friday afternoon in Rapid City after using a Taser on him when he tried to get away.
• They also arrested 30-year-old Joshua Crites on an outstanding warrant for grand theft.
• The sheriff's office says a deputy shot at both men Wednesday when officers tried to arrest Root for violating parole on drug charges and he drove away with an officer caught in the door.
• Officer Nick Rosser was treated for injuries at a hospital and released.
• The sheriff's office says Root wasn't injured in the shooting but did need stitches
