Drastic Temperature Drops and Dangerous Wind Chills to Affect the Northern and Central Plains While Moderate to Heavy Rainfall Will Lead to Flood Concerns Down South

• A strong arctic airmass will plunge into the central U.S. today sharply dropping temperatures and producing dangerous wind chills. While little snow is expected with this moisture-starved system, the gusty winds could cause blizzard conditions with any snow that does fall and accumulate. Across the South, moderate to heavy rainfall will begin today increasing flood chances across the Southeast.
