SD man run over by own car, dies in hospital

• ALEXANDRIA, S.D. (AP) -- A rural Alexandria man died when he was run over by his own car while putting mail in his mailbox.
• The South Dakota Highway Patrol reports that 90-year-old Leland LaDue died Tuesday afternoon in a Mitchell hospital, where he was taken after the incident.
• The patrol says LaDue put the car into reverse gear instead of park before getting out at the mailbox in his driveway, and the car backed over him.
• LaDue's 85-year-old wife, Irene, was in the car at the time but was not hurt.
