• It's a bit ironic how last week I was talking about how relaxed and non-frazzled I am this Christmas and then today, I forgot to write the news!  I'm frantically throwing some information together hoping I will make the deadline!  If you are reading this before December 18th I pulled it off. 
• We had a spectacular turnout for Santa Day at the Legion Hall in Claremont on  Saturday, December 7th.  Santa and Mrs Claus arrived in a shiny red fire truck with lights a blazing and they were met by a rather impressive number of youngsters anxiously awaiting this annual event!  Each child received a bag of goodies and the chance to sit on Santa's knee and whisper their wishes into his ear.  On behalf of the adults I must say it's especially fun to watch these little characters.  Some of them take this business very seriously.  Some bring lists.  Some look as if their parents are walking them down the plank and pushing them into shark infested waters as they shriek in fear once they are at the front of the line.  I was terrified of Santa when I was a kid but now that I'm 48 I know he's harmless.  I did get a little shaky when he came up to my Don and called him by name.  My Don about fell over.  Don realizes everytime he comes to Claremont that I have a tendency to talk about him often as people have started coming up to him saying, "You must be Don."  But Santa too?  That one got him!  I guess he knows that I've also been talking to Santa and that's some serious business.  He had that, "I am on the good list, right?" look on his face.  It was priceless! 
• Turkey and Ken's Gift Certificates winners at Santa Day were Jen Cuhel, Darlyne Dull, Debbie Murray, Nicole Grotelueschen, Mark Hanse, Barney Hanse, Frank Rasmussen, Missi Smith, Jessica Nelson, Brendan Hinrichs, Justin Wegleitner, and Jenn Gustafson.
