• Ipswich won the junior varsity game, 24-23. The game was tied at six after the first quarter and eight at half time. Groton had taken the lead in the third quarter, but Ipswich rallied to take a 13-12 lead at the end of the third quarter.
• Natalia Dohman led Groton with 13 points while Audrey Wanner had six and Katie Koehler and Rachel Blackmun each had two points.

• Groton will host Leola-Frederick on Saturday in a double header with the boys team. "Leola-Frederick is a young team," Wanner said. "We take it one game at a time. By the end of the season, we should be very competitive.  Its going to be a fun and enjoyable season if the girls know their roles."
