Light to moderate snowfall will persist through the day, and northerly winds will increase and become gusty. The combination of the two will result in blowing snow, reduced visibility and potentially hazardous travel. Snowfall will gradually taper off from west to east today, but the strong winds will persist into the early morning hours on Thursday. As cold air surges southward, temperatures will drop below zero and dangerously cold windchill values will occur Thursday morning. The cold air mass persists into the weekend.
