Victim's brother wishes killer was jailed longer

• MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The brother of one of Walter Ellis' seven murder victims says the convicted Wisconsin serial killer should have served more time before dying.
• According to the South Dakota Department of Corrections, the 53-year-old Ellis died at a Sioux Falls hospital Sunday of apparent natural causes.
• Ellis had been held in a South Dakota state prison under an interstate compact agreement
• Terry Williams, of Madison, is the brother of victim Joyce Mims, who was killed in June 1997. He says he hated to hear Ellis died because he deserved to be in prison longer.
• Ellis was accused of killing seven women between 1986 and 2007.
• He pleaded no contest in 2011 in Milwaukee County to charges of first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree murder. He was sentenced to life in prison.

Woman killed when car strikes bull on highway

• PARKSTON, S.D. (AP) -- The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a 33-year-old Parkston woman died after the car she was driving struck a bull on a state highway 16 miles east of Parkston.
• Sherry Kay Baker was driving west on S.D. Highway 44 just after 11 p.m. Sunday. A bull struck the hood and windshield of Baker's car, and Baker was killed from the impact. The Highway Patrol says she was not wearing a seat-belt.
• The crash remains under investigation.

Eastern Washington hosts SDSU in FCS 2nd round

• BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -- South Dakota State University will travel to Eastern Washington for a second-round matchup Saturday in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.
• SDSU beat Northern Arizona 26-7 this past Saturday in the first round. Eastern Washington had a bye.
• SDSU is 9-4 on the season. Eastern Washington is 10-2.
• The FCS national championship game is Jan. 4 in Frisco, Texas.
