Claremont Recorder
By Becky Patterson

• As Thanksgiving approaches once again, I can't help but think about all the blessings in my life.  I have a kind and loving family and lots of wonderful friends. I have a man in my life with depth and determination and he has opened up a part of my mind that I never knew existed.  I have common sense but I think the one thing I am most thankful for is my sense of humor and my ability to see some of the most unfortunate things in a most delightful way.  This past weekend Gabby Merkel and my sister, Becky Wegleitner and I traveled to Bismarck and we had a wonderful time.  One would think two grown women would most likely project a mature and refined image for the ten year old companion.  I suppose that could possibly happen if the two women weren't Becky and I!   We laughed and carried on like teenage girls and laughed more in that day and half than we had in a long time.  I think I remember all three of us saying something about looking forward to our next Bismarck adventure.
•  "Group of Friends" provided music this last week at Wheatcrest Hills.  They also enjoyed visiting and eating a delicious noon meal with the residents.
• On Saturday morning Ann Bailey served coffee to her daughter Carrie Walton and to friends Jane Clark and Debbie Murray.
• My Don traveled to Claremont on Friday evening and at the crack of dawn on Saturday morning he met up with my brother, Jr Patterson and together they set out on a deer hunting adventure.  Lee Loebs joined them in the afternoon and I'm not sure what was more enjoyable, the actual hunting or hearing about the hunting later on that evening.  The three of them were all able to tag a deer which was what they had set out to do.  That was a good thing but hearing about the bullets the deer watched whizzing over their heads in amazement got way more laughs!  All in all, we had a great weekend and I hope you did too!  I hope you all enjoy a delicious feast on Thanksgiving.  I hope you are able to spend some and make some memories with family that will be retold for many years to come and I hope you find yourself taking a lighter view of your reality and I hope you laugh.
