• Franken said the earliest he could see something like this happening is in the 2015 spring semester.

• Elementary Principal Dan Dalchow reported that nearly every class had 100 percent attendance for the parent-teacher conferences. "There were only one or two parents that didn't show up out of the whole elementary school," he said. "That's an outstanding turnout." He also reported that the book fair brought in $1,400. Those funds will be used to purchase new books for the elementary library.

• High School Principal Anna Schwan talked about oral-interp, the food drive, the all-school play, Teachscape training, the Robotics Club and the Cracker Barrel.
• The Cracker Barrel was held November 22 with Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin being the featured speaker. Students from two other school districts also attended. Senator Chuck Welke, Warner, was also present.
• The Robotics Club took second at the Harrisburg competition. The students are Ethan Braun, Devon Poppen, Nick Dalchow and Jacob Milbrandt.
• Schwan said that the school play was "hilarious and the students were impressive."
• Those taking part in the food drive were Haley Unzen, Kennedy Clark, Halle Dohman, Kasey Waage, Kylie Hawkins, Mason Madsen, Parker Rossow, Reilly Ell, Tia Thompson, Lexie Harder, Kellyn Fluke and Tate Carda. They collected food for families to enjoy for Thanksgiving.

• In other action: approved the resignation of Skyler Vander Vorst effective Nov. 26, as a paraprofessional; the resignation of Joel Guthmiller as assistant volleyball coach pending suitable replacement in the 2014-15 school year; hired Maddy Gonsoir as a volunteer assistant girls basketball coach and Drake Patterson as a volunteer assistant boys basketball coach for the upcoming season. An open enrollment was approved for a Langford kindergarten student. The student had been attending school in Groton, but the parents have recently moved into the Langford Area School District.
