Deer on the move so drivers urged to be careful

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- Deer are on the move across South Dakota this time of year, so the state's reminding drivers to be especially careful.
• The Office of Highway Safety says nearly 5,000 wild animals are hit each year in the state, and between 2004 and 2012, 17 people were killed and 824 people injured in such collisions.
• The state says most serious accidents happen when people try to avoid the animal.
