• The second game loss took the wind out of the sails of Groton going into the third game. Sisseton jumped out to an 8-0 lead and upped it to 13-2. Sisseton then coasted to a 23-7 lead before Groton started to rally.
• Groton scored eight unanswered points to make it 23-15. Groton gave Sisseton a point when it lost control of the ball, 24-15. Sisseton continued to lose control of the game with hits out of bounds and violations. Groton closed to within four, 24-20. The Tigers gave Sisseton the winning point on a serve that went out of bounds, 25-20.
• Groton was 95 percent in serving, making 60 of 63 with six ace serves. "Wow," Helvig said. "I look at the stats and I couldn't believe we had only three missed serves. We served awesome tonight. That was by far the best serving match we've had all year. I'm glad it happened now because we needed it."
• Skyler Bonn was 14 of 14 with two ace serves, Kasey Waage was 10 of 10 and Regan Lewandowski was eight of eight with two ace serves. Sisseton made 92 percent of its serves, making 67 of 73 with eight ace serves. Sauanna
