Loyola Marymount races past S. Dakota State 98-89

• SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Anthony Ireland's 20 points and 12 assists helped Loyola Marymount outdistance South Dakota State 98-89 on Saturday.
• Ireland's fifth career double-double was part of a potent attack for the Lions (2-0), as Ben Dickinson added 22 points and six rebounds and freshman Gabe Levin added 20 points and six boards.
• LMU went into intermission ahead 45-44 on three straight 3-pointers. The Lions led by as many as 15 in the second half and their shooting percentage of 57.6 percent was the best in four years.
• Loyola Marymount committed 37 fouls, equaling a school-worst, and South Dakota State hit 37 of 50 from the line.
• Jordan Dykstra led the Jackrabbits (0-2) with 22 points and 11 rebounds for his 12th career double-double, scoring 11 from the free-throw line.
• The game was close until four straight turnovers by the Jackrabbits fueled an 8-0 LMU run midway in the second half.

St. Bonaventure beats South Dakota 68-46 in opener
