Body found in Minnesota River likely SD kayaker

• ST. PETER, Minn. (AP) -- Nicollet County Sheriff's deputies say they believe they've found the body of a kayaker missing since June.
• The Journal in New Ulm reports (http://bit.ly/17h3EXL) the body is believed to be Steven Fritze, a sixth-grade teacher from Watertown, S.D.
• In a news release, the department says a fisherman found the body in a log jam on the Minnesota River at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
• Fritze's kayak overturned June 22 in a fast-moving, rising river after becoming entangled in bushes. Two friends made it to shore but Fritze did not. He was visiting family in New Ulm at the time.
• According to the release, a positive identification is pending results of an autopsy by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner.

Authorities say man killed near Wagner in burglary

• WAGNER, S.D. (AP) -- Authorities say a 56-year-old man has died after two males allegedly invaded a house on the Yankton Sioux Indian Reservation in southeastern South Dakota, killed the man inside the home and stole some items.
• FBI Special Agent E.K. Wilson tells the Yankton Press and Dakotan (http://bit.ly/17WLGgP ) the Thursday night shooting near Wagner is being treated as a home invasion resulting in a homicide.
• Wilson says the victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at about 11:10 p.m. Thursday.
• Wilson says the FBI is investigating the case because it occurred on an American Indian reservation. He says the suspects apparently stole the victim's vehicle, which was later abandoned.
