SD Macy's float to feature rock legend Joan Jett

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will appear on the Mount Rushmore American Pride float at this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
• South Dakota Tourism Secretary Jim Hagen says Jett is a rock legend, especially among the generation of visitors South Dakota is looking to attract. Jett is best known for the classic song, "I Love Rock 'n' Roll."
• This will be the fourth year South Dakota's Department of Tourism will have a float in the New York City parade. Neil Diamond appeared on the float in 2011, and Don McLean, singer of "American Pie," appeared in 2012.
