• The 2013 Elite Eleven teams were selected by a small committee of coaches and soccer people who are not currently coaching high school soccer.  We wanted to have the team selection be as objective as possible.  There is a high probability that you will not agree with all the picks.  The selection criteria were were not only that the players be very good in their positions, but also what they mean to the team and to the game.  And good sportsmanship was also a big factor.
• You will notice that we are not using A or AA status this year, but instead are using Large Program and Small Program.
• The teams that are in Small Program are those that have not played basketball games in SDHSAA Class AA or are playing Class A soccer under SDSSA.  That will change next year.  Any teams that are playing in Class AA basketball will be considered a large program.
• Three Groton Area soccer players were named to the state's Elite Eleven Team. They are Cheyenne Schaller, Camille Sippel and Luca Kother.
