• MDS President Steve Hohn says the loan will allow the company to buy equipment to become more efficient and meet production needs. The family-owned company was established in 1976.

Minot and Milbank meetings planned on butterflies

• MILBANK, S.D. (AP) -- Federal wildlife officials are holding two meetings next week on a proposal seeking threatened or endangered species status for two Upper Midwest butterflies.
• The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says the Dakota skipper and the Poweshiek skipperling butterflies are threatened by degradation or changes to their tallgrass prairie habitat.
• The meetings are planned for Minot, N.D., on Tuesday and Milbank, in north-central South Dakota, on Wednesday.
• The Fish and Wildlife Service has one year to decide whether to give the species protected status.
