Football season ends at first round of playoffs

• Aberdeen Roncalli scored 42 points in two quarters to advance to the next round of the football playoffs. Groton Area traveled to Swisher Field in Aberdeen for the first round of the playoffs as the Cavaliers won, 42-10.
• Some of the highlights for Groton had Parker Rossow out-throwing Zach Lundquist, 108-82, Mason Madsen had more yards receiving with 65 yards, Jacob Milbrandt kicked a 26 yard field goal and Jackson Doeden led all defensive

players with 12 tackles.
• Parker Rossow had an interception on Roncalli's first possession and returned it 78 yards to put Groton on top. Jacob Milbrandt kicked the PAT and it was a Groton 7-0 lead with 6:19 left in the first quarter.
• Roncalli's first scoring drive started with 1:39 left in the first quarter, starting at the Roncalli 49 yard line. The Cavaliers had four first downs as Dalton Cox scored on a one yard run with 9:31 left in the second quarter. The PAT kick was no good and Groton still had the lead, 7-6.
• Groton's next drive was stopped when the Tigers fumbled the ball and Roncalli took over on the Groton 36 yard line. On second and third at the Groton 12 yard line, Dalton Cox broke a tackle and escaped to score. The PAT run was no good
