Foul play suspected in Lincoln County death

• CANTON, S.D. (AP) -- Authorities in southeastern South Dakota's Lincoln County are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a ditch near Canton.
• Sheriff Dennis Johnson says the body of what is believed to be a man in his 20s was found by a passer-by Sunday morning. Johnson says there were signs of trauma on the body and foul play is suspected.
• Authorities did not immediately determine the man's identity.
• An autopsy was scheduled Monday.

2 SD electric cooperatives get funding help

• WASHINGTON (AP) -- Two South Dakota electric cooperatives are getting federal loan guarantees to help build distribution and transmission lines and to make other improvements.
• U.S. Agriculture Department officials say the Moreau-Grand Electric Cooperative, based in Timber Lake, is getting a $10 million loan guarantee to build 165 miles of distribution line and 10 miles of transmission line. It also will make other improvements, including smart grid applications. Officials say the funds will increase electric system reliability for more than 700 rural customers.
• The Oahe Electric Cooperative, based in Blunt, is getting a $4.9 million loan guarantee to build 78 miles of distribution line and to make other improvements, including smart grid applications. Officials say the money will increase electric system reliability for more than 290 rural customers.

Dakota Territorial Museum offers haunted tours

• YANKTON, S.D. (AP) -- The Dakota Territorial Museum is offering "Haunted Tours" of various sites across Yankton on Monday and Tuesday nights to highlight the history of the town.
• The Yankton Press & Dakotan reports (http://bit.ly/17pIsCf ) that stops on this year's tour include the Yankton Cemetery, LilyCrest Cottage, the I.O.O.F. Building, the bowling alley and the Mead Building on the Human Services Center campus.
