• I don't know about you but I sure learned a lot about pheasant hunting this weekend.  I've lived such a sheltered life up until now.  For starters I learned that the guy with the gun doesn't want to do a lot of chit chatting when he is in "shoot mode" and the easiest way to tell that he is in this mode is when his gaze is fixated on the sky for long periods of time.  I also learned that what is said while the hunter is staring at the sky is not to be taken to heart.  He might even appear a bit cranky but he doesn't mean it.  It's wired into that hunt mode in his brain and holding him accountable just wouldn't be worth it provided he is capable of a calm and relaxed conversation following this staring phase.  I learned that there are quite a few varieties of weeds with stickers and they absolutely love polyester exercise pants and I learned that it's best not to witness the union of polyester exercise  pants and stickery weeds if you have an incredibly painful migraine.  Laughter and migraines mix about as well as oil and water!  The pheasant population did not suffer any drop in numbers because of us but we still had a good time trying.  Whenever you can spend time with people you love, it's all good!
The Harvest and Hunters Breakfast held at the Claremont United Methodist Church was once again a success.  It was held on Saturday morning, October 19th.  They served lots of delicious dishes as well as rolls, juice and coffee.
•    The Claremont Fire Department Fundraiser was a roaring success once again
