Claremont Recorder by Becky Patterson

• Virginia Pulfrey served a delicious brunch for the Cheerful Chimes Extention Club on October 9th.  It was held at 10:00am in her home and nine members were present. It was a "bittersweet" meeting as it signaled the end of a club that contributed 62 years of service to the community.  Their average membership was sixteen for all of those years.  They cooked together many times, sponsored a lot of Christmas parties and "Antique Teas", packed Christmas boxes and contributed to the local 4-H club yearly.  This group also enjoyed many wonderful trips together.  They were like a family - great friends doing great things! The Cheerful Chimes will surely be missed.  Thanks for the memories and for all the many contributions you made to enrich the lives of so many!
• Roy, James and Virginia Pulfrey drove to Sioux Falls on Thursday to attend the Timberwolves and Milwaukee basketball game at the new Sanford Arena.  The picked up Laura, who works at Sanford, to go with them.  Nate Wolter, who was drafted by the Bucs, started the game.  He and Laura both graduated from SDSU this spring.  Kevin Lone plays for the Wolves. Virginia saw him play in a high school game in Portland Oregon.  Adelman, the Wolves coach, was also at the game because his son played with Kevin.  The new sports complex contains the arena, a field house, a cafe and a hotel.  More things will be built later.
• Roy and Carrie Pulfrey drove to Sioux Falls on Tuesday for a doctor appointment.  Carrie had a total knee replacement done earlier.
• Adah Chapter met on Tuesday night with ten members present.  Election of officers was held with Mara Hart Worthy Matron, Ron Jarrett Worthy Patron, Virginia
