The state highway crew was out drilling test holes through SD Highway 37. They drilled seven holes in Groton to determine how the soil was and to make plans for a major renovation of the highway through Groton in 2016. Despite the dry conditions, they drilled down 15 feet and pulled up all kinds of wet clay.
