The Life of LeRoy Bahr

LeRoy Bahr 79 of rural Groton died Saturday October 19, 2013 at St. Lukes Hospital in Aberdeen.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday October 24, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ferney with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Lloyd Redhage will officiate.
Visitation will be Wednesday 5-7 closing with a 7 P.M. prayer service at Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel in Groton and will continue at the church Thursday one hour prior to the service.
LeRoy Herman Bahr was born on October 30, 1933 to Herman and Martha (Sauer) Bahr on the family farm in east Hanson Township near Groton. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ferney. He attended school in Groton and graduated in 1951.
After his education he farmed the family farm with his father.
On June 27, 1970 he was united in marriage to Janice Maynard at the United Methodist Church in Aberdeen. To this union two children were born, Daryl and Lori. The family made their home on the Bahr family farmstead.
LeRoy had a great passion for farming and loved taking pictures of the farmland. He also enjoyed visiting with friends and family.
LeRoy loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by his wife Janice and daughter Lori both of Groton. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, mother-in-law, son Daryl, and one sister Deloris Holler.
