SD police chase involves speeds above 150 mph

• MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) -- A 60-year-old Letcher man is in custody after leading authorities on a chase that they say reached speeds above 150 mph.
• Officers say the man was driving a Porsche more than 100 mph on Interstate 90 in Hanson County on Sunday night and fled from a Highway Patrol trooper who tried to stop him.
• The chase ended at a home north of Mitchell where authorities found the man hiding in grass. He was arrested on speeding and fleeing charges.

SD Gov. Daugaard to speak at drug court graduation

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard will give the keynote address next week when the Northern Hills Drug Court holds a graduation ceremony for people who have completed its program.
• The event will be held Oct. 29 at the Meade County Courthouse in Sturgis.
• The Northern Hills Drug Court was South Dakota's first specialty court. It has served 101 clients since it was started in 2007, and it currently has 41 clients in an area that includes Butte, Lawrence, Meade and Pennington counties.
• The program keeps drug offenders out of prison if they complete rehabilitation treatment.
• South Dakota has six operating specialty courts, with four additional courts now being added. Those specialty courts include five drug courts, four DUI courts and one veterans court.

Johnson accepting applicants for internships

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Sen. Tim Johnson is seeking applicants for spring internship positions in his Washington, D.C., Sioux Falls, Rapid City and Aberdeen offices.
• Johnson says the Washington positions provide students with a chance to serve South Dakota and gain first-hand knowledge of the federal government. Press interns track media coverage, organize clips and writing releases.
• Johnson says internships in state offices provide students with in-depth knowledge of current issues affecting the state and the opportunity to work directly with
