Kiwanis Club

• Nineteen members and one guest attended last week's Kiwanis dinner meeting, at the community room.  Pastor Matt Richards was program leader.  Pastor gave an outlook of activities at his local Methodist Church, sang a solo, accompanying himself on the guitar, and showed a video on anger, and how to handle it.
• Tom Paepke, new president; called for new business before the club.  Lori Giedt, chairman, reported on the annual Halloween party, scheduled for 6 p.m, October 31.  Roger Rix, chairman, reported on the annual Snow Queen and talent contest, set for November 17.
• Last week, Larry Wheeting was elected as the new vice president. Harlan Radke, Jr., had the program and had Paul Kosel as a guest. Kosel took the members to the historic Trinity Episcopal Church and talked about the history of the church and plans for the future to keep it in Groton.
• Next week's program leader will be Roger Rix, followed by Orville Schaller.
