Sioux Falls businesses robbed and burglarized

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Sioux Falls police are investigating an unusually high number of burglaries and robberies.
• Police spokesman Sam Clemens says 23 businesses have been burglarized this month, which is easily double the normal number.
• Two of the recent three robberies involved armed suspects and happened at casinos.
• Clemens says investigators see similarities in the crimes but aren't yet ready to connect them.

Inmates helping with storm recovery in Black Hills

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- South Dakota prison inmates are helping the Black Hills recover from an early October storm that dumped 4 feet or more of snow in some areas.
• The Department of Corrections says Gov. Dennis Daugaard ordered minimum-security inmates and staff to help out at the request of local officials.
• Crews are helping out in Rapid City, Spearfish, Sturgis and Belle Fourche (foosh).
• The storm knocked out power to about 30,000 people and killed tens of thousands of cattle.

• FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- North Dakota State is the favorite to win the Summit League men's basketball title this year.
