Showers and thunderstorms will spread across the region today, and will persist into Tuesday. Heavy rainfall is possible, with forecast storm total rainfall amounts ranging from 1 to 3 inches and locally greater amounts possible. Strong and gusty winds will also occur, with winds initially out of the southeast, switching to the east this afternoon, and then the north overnight. Also, there may be a few flakes of snow mixing with rainfall west of the Missouri River overnight. No snow accumulation is expected.
