S. Dakota St rolls past W. Illinois, 38-14

• MACOMB, Ill. (AP) -- Austin Sumner passed for three touchdowns and Zach Zenner rushed for two more as South Dakota State rolled past Western Illinois, 38-14 in a Missouri Valley Conference battle Saturday.
• Sumner threw two touchdown passes less than three minutes apart in the first quarter to spark the Jackrabbits (4-3, 1-2 MVC) to a 17-0 first quarter lead.
• Zenner put the game away in the second half, sweeping 80 yards for a touchdown, then powering in from the 1 to cap the scoring barely three minutes later.
• Sumner was 21 of 35 for 265 yards to go with his three touchdowns, but he also threw a pair of interceptions. Zenner finished with 133 yards on 21 carries. Jason Schneider caught seven passes for 118 yards and a touchdown.
• J.C. Baker carried 27 times for 112 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Leathernecks (3-4, 1-2 MVC).

South Dakota defeats Indiana St. 17-14

• VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) -- Trevor Bouma rushed for two touchdowns, including the game-winner, to help South Dakota come from behind and defeat Indiana St. 17-14 Saturday.
• Bouma's game-winning, 4-yard score capped a 10-play, four-minute drive to put South Dakota (3-3, 2-1 Missouri Valley) up 17-14 with 11:06 remaining. Bouma also rushed for a 3-yard touchdown, and finished with 145 yards on 28 carries.
• Despite two interceptions and two fumbles, the Coyotes had their second come-from-behind victory in as many weeks. Miles Bergner, who kicked a 41-yard game-winning field goal last week, kicked a 43-yard field goal in the third quarter to pull the Coyotes within four.
• Quarterback Robert Tonyan Jr. moved the Sycamores (1-5, 0-2) to the South Dakota 34 before getting stuffed for no gain on fourth down with 4:18 remaining. USD then rode Bouma's back for six straight carries to run out the clock.

SD's Noem joins ND's Hoeven on farm bill committee

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Both Dakotas will have seats at the table when Congress attempts to negotiate a new farm bill, after South Dakota Republican Rep. Kristi Noem was appointed Saturday as a House conferee on the legislation.
• Noem joins North Dakota Republican Sen. John Hoeven, who was named in August as one of the Senate negotiators, as members on a conference committee that
