Another strong low pressure system is forecast to affect the region through the early portion of the week. Today, only scattered showers are expected across parts of western and central South Dakota. Showers and thunderstorms will increase in coverage by Monday morning, and are expected to persist well into Tuesday. Heavy rain is likely. 1 to 3 inches of rainfall is currently forecast across the region. The counties to the west of the Missouri River may see snow mix with rain late Monday night into early Tuesday morning. However, for this region of central South Dakota, snowfall accumulation appears negligible.
