Groton Boys take third at state

•  The Groton High School Boys Soccer team earned the chance to play in the SD State High School Soccer Tournament on October 10-11 in Aberdeen.  In the first

round, the Tigers played the Aberdeen Central Eagles and lost 4-2.    Scoring for Groton in the first half was Ehkhu Poe with the assist going to Landon Larson.   James Thompson scored Groton's other goal with 10 seconds remaining on the clock. 
•  On a very windy Friday afternoon, the Tigers returned to play in the 3rd - 4th place game against the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers.   The first half ended 0-0 but in the second half, the Tigers' James Thompson scored at 16:03 with the assist by Luke Sternhagen.  At 5:05 Sioux Falls Christian tied the score on a corner kick.  When the game ended at 1-1, two ten minute ex
