Lady Tigers beat Titan in fifth game

• A lot of points were scored when Groton Area and Leola-Frederick battled it out on the volleyball court Tuesday night in Groton. Groton won the match, but it took five games.
• The Titans won the first game, 25-22. In that game, the game was tied 11 times and there were four lead changes. The Titans led for most of the game and the game was last tied at 22.
• Groton came back to win the second game, 25-19. The game was tied five times and there were three lead changes before Groton took the lead at 10-9. The Tigers went on a rally, outscoring the Titans, 7-2, to take a 21-14 lead.
• Groton won the third game, 25-22. The game was tied five times and there were two lead changes. The game was last tied at seven before Groton took an 11-7 lead.
• The fourth game became even more intense before the Titans got a 26-24 win. The last two points Groton gave the Titans as one serve hit the net and the

other was hit out of bounds. The game was tied 10 times and there were five lead changes. Groton held a 22-21 lead before trailing, 25-22. The game was tied at 24.
• That set the stage for the fifth game, but this time, Groton jumped out to a 6-0 lead and went on to win, 15-8.
• Coach Aaron Helvig said that serving plays a super part in the game. "If you don't serve well, it sets the tone for everything."
• Groton is now 7-5 on the season and will host Webster tonight. "One thing about our schedule--everyone is so balanced. This year will be our best chance in the post season."
• Groton was 107 of 142 in attacks with 44 kills. Camille Sippel was 28 of 34 with 14 kills, Halle Dohman was 22 of 26 with eight kills and Kylie Hawkins was 22 of 30 with six
