• Kasey Kurtz did the bulk of the running as he carried the ball 49 times for 224 yards and had two touchdowns. The team had 70 carries for 304 yards. Others running were Jackson Doeden with 10 carries for 37 yards. "Jackson ran the ball to the outside and had a couple of nice sweeps," Wanner said. "When they (Milbank) took that away, we had to run straight north and south." Alec Oleson had six carries for 36 yards and Jeric Albrecht had one carry for 18 yards with a touchdown. Milbank had 24 carries for a minus 10 yards. Kyle Monteig had 10 carries for 20 yards. Groton had more first downs, 21-2.
• Groton took the opening kickoff and marched 80 yards in 7:09 and had six first downs as Jeric Albrecht scored on an 18 yard run with 4:51 left in the first quarter. The PAT two-point conversion failed and Groton took a 6-0 lead.
