More than 25,000 without power in Black Hills area

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- A Black Hills Power official says the company is working to restore power to more than 25,000 customers who lost power in the autumn storm that has dumped up to 43 inches of snow in western South Dakota and northeastern Wyoming.
• Mutch Usera (Yoo-SEHR--uh) of Black Hills Power says about one-third of the company's customers were without power early Saturday. He says crews could not work overnight because of blowing snow, but they were out early Saturday to assess damages.
• Usera says crews from other utility companies are expected to arrive by midday to help fix transmission lines. He says the rough terrain in the Black Hills and downed tree limbs are hampering crews trying to reach some areas, but improving weather should help the repair effort.

I-90 in NE Wyo. remains closed due to snow, wind

• SHERIDAN, Wyo. (AP) -- Authorities say a large portion of Interstate 90 in northeastern Wyoming remains closed because of high winds, icy conditions and heavy snow.
• The Wyoming Highway Patrol says a nearly 200-mile section of the interstate from Sheridan to the South Dakota border was closed at about 6 a.m. Friday, and it remains unclear when it will reopen.
• Michele Blais, a supervisor with the Montana Highway Patrol, says numerous truck drivers were forced to park their rigs along the highway in the Sheridan area near the Montana-Wyoming border, and "the weather is not cooperating."
• An early snowstorm walloped parts of Wyoming Friday, leaving thousands of people in the dark and forcing colleges and other schools to call off classes.
