over on downs after getting down to the Sioux Valley 24 yard line. The Cossacks ran the clock down and the half ended with Sioux Valley leading, 20-7.
• Krueger had a 25 yard kickoff return to start off Groton's opening drive of the third quarter. Groton ended up punting, but a roughing the punter penalty on Sioux Valley gave Groton a first down. Doeden gave Groton two first downs and that set up a 16 yard touchdown pass from Parker Rossow to Spencer Knecht. The PAT kick by Milbrandt was good and it was a 20-14 Sioux Valley lead with 6:58 left in the third quarter.
• The Cossacks fumbled the kickoff return with Carter Jondahl recovering the ball. That set up Groton's next drive starting at the Sioux Valley 35 yard line. Kurtz got a first down putting the ball at the 23 yard line. On third and 10, Jade

Albrecht caught the ball in the endzone, but lost control of the ball and Sioux Valley recovered the ball for a touchback. Sioux Valley marched down the field to the Groton 14 yard line, but was unable to score as the third quarter ended, 20-14.
• Groton's first drive of the fourth quarter was plagued with problems. A fumble was recovered, but cost Groton a play. Groton was sacked twice.
