Sioux Valley wins with final
play-of-the-game touchdown

• Groton dominated the stat sheet, but fell short on the scoreboard as Sioux Valley defeated Groton on the last play of the game, Friday, in Volga, 26-21.
• Groton had more first downs, 19-17, more yards rushing, 155-143, more yards passing, 155-118, and fewer penalty yards, 30-20.
• Groton had 37 carries for 155 yards with Kasey Kurtz having 19 carries for 102 yards, Jackson Doeden had 10 for 55 yards, Dylan Krueger had two for five yards and Spencer Knecht had one for two yards. Sioux Valley had 36 carries for 143 yards with Brock Swartos having 11 carries for 42 yards, Haydon hall had 13 carries for 46 yards and Trevor Lundin had six carries for 35 yards.
• Sioux Valley took the opening kickoff and returned it to the Groton 45 yard line. From there, the Cossacks got two first downs as Collin Kramer scored on a four yard run. The PAT kick was blocked and Sioux Valley took a 6-0 lead with 9:02 left in the first quarter.
• Dylan Krueger caught the kickoff and the Tigers took over on their own 30
