SD soldiers return home from Afghanistan tour

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- Four South Dakota National Guard soldiers who served nine months in Afghanistan are back home.
• The soldiers with the 1978th Contingency Contracting Team were welcomed home Tuesday during a public ceremony in Rapid City. Gov. Dennis Daugaard was one of the officials on hand.
• The unit deployed last November to help support U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan. The soldiers administered contracts for hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of services and commodities during their tour.

Medical problem might have led to drowning death

• PICKSTOWN, S.D. (AP) -- Authorities believe a medical problem might have contributed to the death of a Wagner man who died after falling into the Missouri River while fishing.
• The Charles Mix County Sheriff's Office says 71-year-old Robert Clemens was fishing from a dock near Pickstown with his brother on Tuesday afternoon when he fell into the water. Authorities recovered his body about half an hour later.
• The sheriff's office has categorized the death as an accidental drowning and says the investigation is continuing.

SD priest fired over sexual harassment allegations

• ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) -- Avera has fired a longtime priest at a hospital and retirement community in Aberdeen over allegations of sexual harassment.
• The Catholic Diocese of Sioux Falls says the allegations by female staff members against the Rev. Charles Emezie have been ruled credible. Officials say Emezie's alleged behavior violates the diocese's sexual misconduct policy, and his privilege to minister has been revoked.
• A call to a home telephone listing for Emezie in Aberdeen was not answered early Wednesday.
• Emezie has been chaplain at Avera St. Luke's Hospital and Avera Mother Joseph Manor in Aberdeen for nearly two decades. He also is a priest in the Diocese of Orlu in Nigeria. The Sioux Falls Diocese says it has notified officials there.
