Couples share at least 51 years of marriage
From the Faulkton Record

• Henry and Joanne Elsing have shared 54 years of marriage together on the family homestead near Chelsea. As people tend to live longer that might not seem to be too unusual.
• But there can't be many couples who can boast that all their siblings and their spouses are all living and have celebrated at least 51 years of marriage.
• In July Joanne's family gathered at their Ferney homestead with the background of a very old tree on the property, top photo. That picture of the Roy Carl Hoops and Helena Adeline (Bahr) Hoops family represents 345 years of marriage between six couples. Roy and Helena were married Sept. 10, 1927 and were married 60 years.

Pictured are Henry and Joanne Elsing, Chelsea, married Nov. 7, 1959, 54 years; Maynard and Irma Fuerstenau, Bend, Ore., married Aug. 12, 61 years; and George and Wilma Wendt, Morton Grove, Ill., married July 14, 1956, 57 years.
