• A deputy saw someone throw a large, white object onto Old Fort Road at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday and contacted Hermanson, leading to his arrest. One sign was broken while a speed zone sign was folded. The deputy was able to bend the sign back to its correct position.
• The team announced Hermanson's suspension Monday afternoon, citing a violation of the student-athlete conduct code. The university statement also included an apology from Hermanson.
• "I know it is a privilege to be a Grizzly student-athlete and that we are held to a high standard," the statement read. "I am honored to be a student at the University of Montana. I am anxious to resolve this issue and move forward."
• Hermanson starts at free safety and is Montana's second-leading tackler.

Drive-in theater in Mitchell becomes history

• MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) -- An outdoor theater in Mitchell that was built in 1949 has shut down, but not before one final weekend show that drew a packed crowd.
• The Starlite Drive-In showed "Despicable Me 2" on Saturday night to an overflow crowd of several hundred cars. Owner Jeff Logan said the theater hadn't had a night that busy since Burt Reynolds starred in "Smokey and the Bandit" in the 1970s.
• "I'm thrilled it's like this; this will be a great memory," he told KDLT-TV.
• Logan, who bought the theater in 1976, said he is closing it because of the movie industry's conversion to digital production. The drive-in does not make enough money to warrant the necessary $70,000 investment in new equipment because of the short summer season with its unpredictable weather. He said he'll now focus on his indoor theaters in Mitchell, Huron and Dell Rapids.
• Pat Clark, of Mitchell, got his first job at the theater 50 years ago at age 16. He attended the final show with his wife, Bobbie, and their four grandchildren from Yankton. He told The Daily Republic that he understands the economics behind the theater's closing, but is saddened because of the "nostalgia of it all."
• Logan said that when the movie credits began rolling on Saturday, the reality sank in.
• "A flood of memories of all the years, all the things we've done and have happened, it's just really sad that all that is gone now," he said. "It's only a memory."
