Groton Girls Soccer has big weekend.

• On a week that saw the girl's volleyball team win two big matches against tough opponents, the girls soccer team decided to join in the fun.
• On Friday, the Lady Tigers traveled to Aberdeen to take on the Central Eagles for their homecoming.  The Tigers played well against the defending state champions, weathering a few narrow escapes in the first half.  The Eagles were able to get the ball into the Tigers end of the half, but were not able to find the net.  The first half ended in a 0-0 tie.
• The Tigers came out in the second half playing tough on defense and in the mid-field.  The Tigers were able to keep the Eagles from putting together many good shots in the second half.  Darac Harry was the keeper for the game and was credited with 8 saves on the game.  The Tigers played well as a team, supporting one another.  The game ended in a 0-0 tie.  This was a big game for the Tigers given them the 10 additional power points in the standings leading in the playoffs.
• On Saturday, the Tigers hosted that Blue Dragons of Garretson.  The Tigers scored in the first minutes of game a shot by Jasmine Schaller with and assist from Harliegh Winther.  The Tigers scored again before approximately 10 minutes later when Angela Locke scored on an assist from Jasmine Schaller.  The Tigers added a third goal in the second half by Harliegh Winther on a crossing assist again by Jasmine Schaller.  The Tigers played well and everyone was able to see playing time in the game.  Goal keeping was split between Darac Harry in the first half and Devon Howard in the second half.
• The Tigers travel to Rapid City on Saturday September 28th to take on St. Thomas Moore.  This is a big game toward the final standings going into the play offs.  The Tigers close the regular season on October 1 with a rematch with the Mitchell Kernels.  The Tigers are looking forward to that playoffs with the hope of hosting a playoff game sometime in the first week of October.
