Junior High Football Boys Pick Up Two More Wins

• The 8th grade defeated Redfield by the score of 36-8.  The game opened with a big wake-up call for Groton as Redfield returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and the conversion.  The Tigers were down 8 to 0, then came storming back.  On their first possession Seric Shabazz scored on a touchdown run.  The conversion was good on a pass from Marshall Lane to Jackson Oliver.  Shabazz had another touchdown run later in the quarter, followed by a conversion run by him as well. Groton then had one more score before the half on a touchdown pass from Lane to Tylan Glover, Shabazz added the conversion.  24 to 8 at the break.
• In the second half the Tigers added two more scores with another passing TD from Lane to Oliver, and then later another breakaway TD run by Shabazz.  Thus ending the scoring at 36-8.  Hunter Monson had an interception in the game.  Brandyn Anderson and Brandon Keith both made big tackles from their defensive line positions.
•  The 7th graders defeated the Aberdeen Central Blue 7th grade team by the score of 28-6.  Lucas Hinman scored first on a long TD run.  The conversion was also good on a pass from Treyton Diegel to Anthony Sippel.  Groton got the ball again after AC fumbled.  Hinman then scored on another TD run making it 14-0.  Later in the second quarter Tylan Glover had a break away TD run of around 50 yards.  AC then came back with their only score on a short 2 -yard run that had been set up by a long pass play.  Right before the half then, Glover had another break away run right up the middle for a TD.  The score was 28-6 at the half, and the Tigers played pretty conservative the rest of the game thus ending the scoring.
