• LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- It looked like South Dakota State's offense might be able to keep the Jackrabbits in the game against Nebraska.
• The defense didn't come close to holding up its end.
• Zach Zenner ran for 202 yards and two touchdowns that helped the Championship Subdivision Jackrabbits take a lead in the first quarter, but Nebraska responded with 38 straight points in a 59-20 rout Saturday.
• "We never stopped them on defense," coach John Stiegelmeier said, "so I don't know how many games you can win when you don't stop a team. That, to me, was the huge factor."
• Tommy Armstrong Jr. and Ron Kellogg III split playing time as fill-ins for the injured Taylor Martinez, and they combined to pass for 305 yards and two touchdowns for the Huskers (3-1). Ameer Abdullah added a career-high 139 yards on the ground in front of 92,000 at Memorial Stadium.

• Zenner, a 2,000-yard rusher a year ago and a leading candidate for the Walter Payton Award as the top player in the FCS, went over 100 yards on just his seventh carry.
• "To go down and (score) right away was nice," Zenner said. "But, obviously, we didn't score enough to win. Not even close. As nice as the beginning was, you need to continue that throughout the whole game."
• Martinez, who had started 32 straight games, didn't practice all week because of a turf-toe injury on his left foot. The Huskers have an open date this week, and coach Bo Pelini said he expects the senior to be able to play when the Huskers open Big Ten play against Illinois on Oct. 5.
• Saturday's victory will do little to quell concern over Nebraska's defense. Zenner tied for 10th most rushing yards by a Nebraska opponent, and the Jackrabbits finished with 465 total yards and 25 first downs.
• "I thought that was our worst performance defensively," Pelini said. "I told the de
