• After thinking about it, Scott's life priorities easily outweigh his desire to get back on the football field.
• "I'm just lucky to be able to walk around and talk to people and live a normal life, really," he said. "I was a little upset (about not being able to play) at first, but I'm just happy to be alive."
• Majoring in math education and physical education, Scott is taking one master's course this fall and he is looking to substitute teach soon and eventually get into coaching football and wrestling. He'd also like to be involved with the family ranch as much as possible.
• "That is very important for me," Scott said of the ranch.
• In the meantime, he's out on the practice field just about every day, doing what he can to help. On game day, he dons his No. 30 jersey and is part of the team despite not being able to play.
• "They said I can do as much as I want or as little as I want," Scott said of the BHSU coaching staff. "I have been going to practices and trying to help out the guys if I can. It's a tough situation because you want to be there, but you don't because it is hard (not playing)."

• Reiners said it wasn't a tough decision to make Scott a captain. He said he likely would have been voted a captain if he would have played.
• "The kid has drive; he has motivation," Reiners said. "You go back and look at him as a football player and there are faster guys out there, there are stronger guys out there. But I don't know if there was ever a smarter guy out there. The team, no matter what, had always looked up to him."
• For some, using the word miracle is not always appropriate. The Boner family understands that. Yet, there's little doubt in their minds and their lives that miracles do happen.
• Scott Boner is living proof.

• FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) -- Zach Bauman ran for 151 yards and a touchdown to power Northern Arizona to 22-16 win over South Dakota on Saturday night.
• Bauman, who became the school's all-time leading rusher last week in a win over UC Davis, ran for a 3-yard score just before halftime to give the Lumberjacks (2-1) a
