• WAGNER, S.D. (AP) -- A Wild Card 2 ticket sold in Wagner is worth $6,000 in the latest drawing.
• South Dakota lottery officials say the ticket matched all five white ball numbers but missed the Wild Card in Wednesday's drawing to win the game's second prize. The odds of winning it are 1 in about 127,000.
• Wild Card 2 is played in the Dakotas, Montana and Idaho. The jackpot sits at $265,000 for the next drawing, on Saturday.

Suspect who prompted school lockdown faces charges

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- An Iowa man who prompted a school lockdown in southeastern South Dakota is facing charges in multiple alleged incidents in the region over the past six weeks.
• Attorney General Marty Jackley says 32-year-old Scott Hughes, of Akron, Iowa, faces charges including burglary, arson and intentional damage to property.
• It was not immediately clear Thursday whether Hughes had obtained a lawyer. Home telephone listings for him in Akron and in the South Dakota city of Elk Point have been disconnected.
• Hughes was arrested Wednesday in Akron after allegedly going on a crime spree and fleeing from law officers. The Elk Point-Jefferson School in Elk Point was put on lockdown status for a little less than two hours as a precaution while Hughes was on the run.

SD man on trial on attempted fetal homicide charge

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- A man who authorities say spiked his girlfriend's beverages with herbs to induce an abortion is on trial in Rapid City.
• Thirty-six-year-old Alfredo Vargas is charged with attempted fetal homicide. He faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
