bands have signed up for the event. The bands will be street marching and will end up at the football field where the featured band from Northern State University will be putting on a performance on the field.
• A request was made from the Northern Route to the Black Hills committee was made to the city council in asking for a $682.50 contribution. City Finance Officer Anita Lowary said, "They would really, really, really like to see Groton become part of this route." Councilman Clare Brotherton said, "We would really, really, really like to do it, but we can't." Councilman Michelle Muilenburg said the money would be better spent for the park playground equipment. Speaking of playground equipment, the Groton Kiwanis Club presented the council with a check for $2,000 to be used for playground equipment at the park. "We thank the Kiwanis for their generous donation," Hanlon said.
• A change order for Robert Johnson Construction was approved in the amount of $25,019.20. Of that, $23,001 was for more base course. More base was needed as the intersections were flared out a little more and the streets ended up being a little wider in places.
