JH football teams beat Sisseton

• The 7th and 8th grade football teams got their first action of the year vs. Sisseton on September 12.  The 7th grade won by the score of 32-0.  The 8th grade won 28-0.
• In the 7th grade game, Tylan Glover scored the first touchdown for Groton on a run.  Brandon Keith put  the second touchdown on the board from his defensive position while picking up a fumble and returning it all the way for the score.  Lucas Hinman then added the conversion with a run of his own, thus making the score 14-0.  Groton scored two other touchdowns in the first half as well.  Both were rushing touchdowns, one by Treyton Diegel and the other again by Hinman.  After leading 26-0 at the half, the Tigers came out and scored once more in the second half.  This time it was a pass from quarterback Treyton Diegel to Anthony Sippel.  The scoring thus ended at 32-0.  Marshall Lane and Jeremiah Hilton both had fumble recoveries in the game as well.
• In the 8th grade game, Groton first got on the board with a touchdown run by Anthony Sippel.  The 2-point conversion was also good with a pass from Marshall Lane to Jackson Oliver.  Seric Shabazz scored the second touchdown on a long run of his own.  The conversion was also good here on another pass from Lane to Oliver.  The Tigers got one more score just before half, this time on a touchdown pass from quarterback Marshall Lane to Jackson Oliver. Thus making the score 22-0 at halftime.  Groton came out and scored one more touchdown in the second half on a long run by Sippel.  The game then ended at 28-0.
