"We had some great plays." Groton went the distance in nine plays and had three first downs on the series as Kurtz scored on a 13 yard run with 2:25 left in the game. Milbrandt kicked the PAT, forcing the Groton cheerleaders to do 35 jumping jacks as Groton ended up winning the game, 35-16.
• "I'm proud with the way our kids came back in the second half," Wanner said. "The kids really responded well."
