Mason Madsen had broken up a couple of passes. A penalty, a pass and a run had Mobridge-Pollock knocking on the door. Mobridge-Pollock was at the one-yard line, but the Tiger defense put up its impenetrable wall and denied the touchdown. Chase Schoenhard kicked a field goal with two seconds left to give Mobridge-Pollock a 10-7 lead at half time.
• Mobridge-Pollock came out steaming out in the second half and took the opening drive 57 yards in 10 plays in six minutes as Jason Hill scored on a 15 yard pass from Mason Keller. The PAT kick was no good and it was a Mobridge-Pollock 16-7 lead.
• Groton couldn't get anything going on its next drive and ended up punting on fourth and 10. Mobridge started out at its own 26 yard line. The Groton defense started to shine once again. Sheldon Herr made a sack and then Kurtz intercepted the ball and took the ball

down to the Mobridge-Pollock 21 yard line. On the next play, Jason Hill intercepted the ball in the endzone; however, there were offsetting penalties that ended up in Groton's favor as Groton kept the ball as it was positioned at the 25 yard line. Three plays later, Jackson Doeden escaped for a 13 yard touchdown run. Milbrandt kicked the PAT and Mobridge-Pollock's lead was at two, 16-14, with 2:17 left in the third
