• Spink County Sheriff Kevin Schurch says five men were on the roof installing insulation and tin on top of it when the man stepped through a spot where there wasn't any metal to support him.
• Schurch says the man fell at least 20 feet.
• His name hasn't been released.
• The general contractor is from Roscoe. But Schurch says the man killed was subcontracted labor.

Man jailed for voting twice in Mitchell election

• MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) -- A man who voted twice in Mitchell's school board election was sentenced Tuesday to 30 days in jail for voter fraud.
• Craig Guymon must also pay $1,200 in fines, court costs and restitution within a month.
• "I just wanted to express that on June 4, I made one of the most foolish decisions of my life," Guymon said at the Davison County Public Safety Center in Mitchell.
• Judge Tim Bjorkman imposed a 180-day jail sentence but suspended 150 days on the condition that Guymon successfully complete a two-year probation period after his release. Guymon will serve his jail time in 10-day increments at the Davison County Jail: 10 days immediately, followed by 10 days in September 2014 and the final 10 days in September 2015.
• Bjorkman denied Guymon's request for a suspended imposition, which would give Guymon the chance to wipe the felony conviction from his record if he completes his probation without any violations. But the judge said he'll allow Guymon to make another request toward the end of the probation period, assuming he has abided by the conditions.
• He has since moved to Platte.

SD has second West Nile virus death of the year

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- State health officials say a second person has died in South Dakota from the West Nile virus this year.
• He or she was a Tripp County resident in their 80s.
• State Epidemiologist Dr. Lon Kightlinger told KELO-TV (http://bit.ly/17UBaUH ) this is one of the most serious seasons in years.
• He says that while fewer people are contracting the mosquito-borne virus, those who do are sicker than patients in previous years.
