The Life of Steve Fredrickson

• Memorial services for Steve Fredrickson, 68, of Groton will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 11 at Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.  Ordained Elder, Tom Louisiana will officiate.  Inurnment with military honors will follow in Union Cemetery, Groton.
• Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
• Steve died at his home Saturday, September 7, 2013. 
• Stephen Leslie Fredrickson was born on September 29, 1944 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Selmer and Dona (Clark) Fredrickson.  He attended school in Osseo, Minnesota.  Steve

enlisted in the US Navy in November of 1962 and served for six years.  He later was active in the US Coast Guard and received his honorable discharge in 1975.  Steve returned to Minnesota and began working in telecommunications.  He founded Advanced Business Telephone in Fargo.  On June 29, 1993 he was united in marriage with Deborah Wambolt in Fargo.  They made their home there for several years before moving to Aberdeen, where Steve was employed at Tel Serve.  In 2000, they moved to Groton and for the past seven years, Steve had worked at Wal-Mart.
• In his earlier years, Steve enjoyed snowmobiling and watching drag racing.  He also enjoyed fishing and archery hunting. 
• Celebrating his life is his wife, Deb of Groton, his children, Sherri (Greg) Shepard of Palmer, Alaska; Gene (LeAnn) Fredrickson of Aberdeen; Darren (Amanda Wood) Fredrickson of Moorhead, Minnesota, step-children, Larissa (Scott) Natrass of Castle Rock, Colorado; Casey (Bridget) Hutchison of Fargo, North Dakota; Kalli Hutchison of Grand Forks, North Dakota and eight grandchildren.  Steve is also survived by his siblings, Joyce (Tom) Louisiana of American Fork, Utah; Carol (Dave) Schaefer of Little Elm, Texas; Mark (Tree) Fredrickson of Mill City, Oregon and Dennis Fredrickson of Jefferson, Oregon.
• Preceding him in death were his parents.
